Welcome to spss-tutors.com.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of spss-tutors.com and the tutoring services offered through the website.

By accessing the website, submitting a tutoring request, purchasing a tutoring session or package, attending a tutoring session, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. About spss-tutors.com

spss-tutors.com is a Kenya-based online tutoring service that provides one-to-one SPSS and statistics tutoring to university students, postgraduate students, researchers, and other learners worldwide.

Our services are educational in nature. We help students understand statistical concepts, use SPSS correctly, interpret statistical output, troubleshoot analyses, and develop the skills needed to complete their own academic work.

For questions regarding these Terms and Conditions, contact:

Email: support@spss-tutors.com

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By using spss-tutors.com or purchasing our services, you confirm that:

  • you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions;
  • you agree to comply with them;
  • the information you provide to us is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and
  • you have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement for the services you request.

If you are below the age at which you can legally enter into contracts in your jurisdiction, you must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before purchasing our services.

If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, you should not purchase or use our tutoring services.

3. Our Tutoring Services

spss-tutors.com provides online educational support relating primarily to SPSS, statistics, quantitative research, and associated research methods.

Tutoring may include help with areas such as:

  • understanding statistical concepts;
  • choosing appropriate statistical tests;
  • learning how to use SPSS;
  • data preparation and cleaning;
  • descriptive statistics;
  • hypothesis testing;
  • t tests;
  • ANOVA and related procedures;
  • correlation;
  • linear and logistic regression;
  • nonparametric tests;
  • reliability analysis;
  • factor analysis;
  • mediation and moderation;
  • interpreting SPSS output;
  • understanding statistical assumptions;
  • explaining statistical results;
  • APA-style statistical reporting;
  • dissertation or thesis statistics; and
  • other related statistical topics agreed upon before or during a session.

The exact content of a tutoring session depends on the student’s needs, academic level, requested topic, available time, and the tutor’s expertise.

4. Tutoring, Not Assignment Completion

spss-tutors.com is a tutoring service.

Our purpose is to help you understand and perform your own statistical work.

Tutors may:

  • explain concepts;
  • demonstrate statistical procedures;
  • guide you through SPSS;
  • work through examples with you;
  • help you understand your own dataset;
  • explain output;
  • identify errors in an analysis;
  • discuss possible statistical approaches;
  • review work for learning purposes; and
  • help you understand how statistical results may be reported.

Tutors will not knowingly:

  • complete an examination or test on your behalf;
  • impersonate you;
  • log into a university system while pretending to be you;
  • fabricate research data;
  • falsify statistical results;
  • deliberately manipulate results to obtain a desired outcome;
  • submit academic work as though it were completed independently by you;
  • facilitate academic dishonesty; or
  • knowingly assist with conduct that violates applicable academic-integrity rules.

You remain responsible for understanding and complying with the academic-integrity policies of your university, college, course, supervisor, journal, or other institution.

Our separate Academic Integrity Policy forms part of these Terms.

5. Tutoring Requests

You may request tutoring through the forms or booking options available on spss-tutors.com.

When submitting a request, you should provide sufficient information for us to understand what help you need. This may include:

  • academic level;
  • area of study;
  • tutoring topic;
  • preferred session duration;
  • deadline;
  • availability;
  • description of the problem;
  • relevant statistical methods; and
  • supporting files where appropriate.

Submitting a tutoring request does not by itself guarantee that a tutor is available or that your request has been accepted.

We may review your request before confirming the tutoring session.

6. Booking Confirmation

A tutoring session is considered confirmed when:

  1. we have accepted the tutoring request;
  2. the session details have been agreed upon where necessary; and
  3. any required payment has been successfully received.

We may decline a request where, for example:

  • no suitable tutor is available;
  • insufficient time is available before the student’s deadline;
  • the request falls outside our expertise;
  • the request conflicts with our Academic Integrity Policy;
  • the request involves unlawful or inappropriate activity; or
  • necessary information has not been provided.

If we decline a request for which payment has already been made, the payment will be handled in accordance with our Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

7. Academic Levels and Pricing

Tutoring prices may vary according to academic level because the complexity, preparation time, and statistical depth involved can differ.

spss-tutors.com currently distinguishes between categories such as:

  • Undergraduate;
  • Master’s; and
  • PhD/Doctoral.

You are responsible for selecting the academic level that accurately reflects the work you need help with.

If a request is submitted under an incorrect academic level, we may adjust the applicable tutoring rate before confirming the session.

We will explain any material price adjustment before requiring additional payment.

8. Prices

Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on spss-tutors.com are quoted in United States dollars (USD).

Prices may differ according to:

  • academic level;
  • session duration;
  • number of sessions;
  • tutoring package; or
  • other clearly disclosed factors.

We may change our prices from time to time.

A price change will not normally affect a tutoring session that has already been confirmed and paid for, unless the booking is subsequently changed by agreement between you and spss-tutors.com.

Any currency-conversion charges, bank fees, or charges imposed by your payment provider are outside our control.

9. Tutoring Packages

spss-tutors.com may offer discounted packages containing multiple tutoring sessions.

The number and duration of sessions included in a package will be displayed when the package is purchased.

Tutoring packages:

  • may only be used for the number of sessions purchased;
  • are intended for the student who purchased them;
  • may not be resold;
  • may not normally be transferred to another person without our prior approval; and
  • must be used subject to any conditions disclosed when the package is purchased.

Where a package has a specific validity period, that period will be disclosed before purchase.

Unused package sessions are subject to our Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

10. Payments

Payments may be processed through PayPal or another payment provider made available through spss-tutors.com.

You agree to provide accurate payment information and to use a payment method that you are authorized to use.

Payment providers may apply their own:

  • terms of service;
  • privacy policies;
  • currency-conversion rules;
  • fraud-prevention procedures; and
  • transaction requirements.

spss-tutors.com does not normally receive your complete credit or debit card information when payment is processed through an independent payment provider.

11. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that schedules can change.

Requests to cancel or reschedule a tutoring session are handled according to our Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

That policy explains matters including:

  • student cancellations;
  • rescheduling requests;
  • missed sessions;
  • tutor cancellations;
  • refunds;
  • package sessions; and
  • circumstances outside either party’s reasonable control.

You should review that policy before purchasing tutoring.

Where there is a conflict between these Terms and the specific cancellation or refund provisions of the Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy, the more specific provisions of that policy will apply to the cancellation or refund issue.

12. Late Arrival and Missed Sessions

Students are responsible for joining tutoring sessions at the agreed time.

If you arrive late, the session may still end at the originally scheduled time where the tutor has another commitment afterwards.

If you fail to attend a confirmed session without appropriate notice, the session may be treated as a missed session in accordance with our Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.

If a tutor is significantly late or unable to attend, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the affected tutoring time or provide another appropriate remedy.

13. Your Responsibilities

To receive useful tutoring, you agree to:

  • provide accurate information about your needs;
  • provide relevant materials with reasonable notice where possible;
  • attend scheduled sessions on time;
  • have the necessary internet connection and device;
  • obtain legal access to any software required for the session;
  • communicate respectfully with tutors;
  • participate actively in the tutoring process;
  • ask questions when you do not understand something;
  • comply with your institution’s academic policies; and
  • use the tutoring service for legitimate educational purposes.

Tutoring works best when students actively participate rather than expect a tutor to complete the entire task for them.

14. SPSS Software

You are responsible for obtaining lawful access to any software required for your tutoring session, including IBM SPSS Statistics where applicable.

The purchase of tutoring from spss-tutors.com does not include an SPSS software licence unless explicitly stated otherwise.

We do not provide unauthorized, cracked, pirated, or illegally licensed software.

15. Files and Datasets

You may provide files that are reasonably necessary for tutoring, including:

  • datasets;
  • SPSS output;
  • questionnaires;
  • research questions;
  • assignment instructions;
  • supervisor feedback; or
  • other relevant educational materials.

You must not knowingly provide files that you do not have permission to share.

Where a dataset contains information about research participants or other individuals, you should remove personally identifying information wherever possible before sharing it with us.

You remain responsible for complying with applicable:

  • research-ethics requirements;
  • confidentiality obligations;
  • university policies;
  • data-protection requirements; and
  • third-party agreements.

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Tutoring Sessions

Tutoring sessions may be delivered through a third-party video-conferencing or communication service.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • your device is working;
  • your microphone and screen-sharing capabilities are functioning where needed;
  • your internet connection is reasonably stable; and
  • you can access the agreed communication platform.

Temporary technical problems may occasionally occur.

Where a significant technical problem attributable to spss-tutors.com or the tutor prevents meaningful delivery of a substantial part of a session, we will make reasonable efforts to provide replacement tutoring time or another appropriate remedy.

17. Session Recordings

Tutoring sessions are not normally recorded by spss-tutors.com unless this has been agreed in advance.

A tutoring session should not be recorded by either party without informing the other party and obtaining any consent required by applicable law.

Where a recording is agreed upon, its permitted use may be limited to personal educational purposes.

18. No Guarantee of Academic Outcomes

Tutoring is intended to improve understanding and provide educational guidance.

We do not guarantee:

  • a particular grade;
  • passing an assignment or examination;
  • approval by a lecturer or supervisor;
  • successful dissertation or thesis defence;
  • acceptance of a journal article;
  • publication of research;
  • a statistically significant result;
  • approval of a particular statistical method;
  • admission to an academic program; or
  • any other academic or professional outcome.

Academic outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your own work, institutional requirements, assessment standards, data quality, research design, and decisions made by lecturers, supervisors, examiners, editors, or reviewers.

19. Statistical Advice and Research Decisions

Statistical tutoring often involves professional judgment.

In some situations, more than one statistical approach may be defensible.

Our tutors provide educational explanations based on the information made available to them, but you remain responsible for:

  • decisions about your research;
  • consultation with your supervisor where required;
  • confirming institutional requirements;
  • verifying the accuracy of your dataset;
  • ensuring the appropriateness of your research design; and
  • deciding what analysis to submit or report.

Tutoring should not replace advice from your dissertation supervisor, research committee, ethics board, lecturer, or other responsible academic authority.

20. Accuracy of Information

We aim to provide accurate and useful tutoring and website information.

However, educational and statistical material may occasionally contain errors, require clarification, or depend on assumptions that are not immediately apparent.

If you believe that an explanation or analysis is incorrect, contact us so that we can review the issue.

21. Intellectual Property

The website and original materials made available through spss-tutors.com, including where applicable:

  • website text;
  • graphics;
  • branding;
  • lesson materials;
  • guides;
  • worksheets;
  • original examples;
  • templates; and
  • other original educational materials

may be protected by copyright or other intellectual-property rights.

Unless otherwise permitted, materials provided by spss-tutors.com are for your personal educational use.

You may not reproduce, publish, sell, redistribute, commercially exploit, or falsely claim ownership of our proprietary materials without permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your own research, dataset, dissertation, thesis, assignment, or other materials to spss-tutors.com.

22. Your Materials

You retain ownership of materials that you lawfully provide to us.

By providing those materials, you give spss-tutors.com and the tutor handling your request permission to access and use them only as reasonably necessary to:

  • evaluate your tutoring request;
  • prepare for the session;
  • provide tutoring;
  • provide follow-up support; or
  • resolve a related customer-service issue.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your materials to us.

23. Reviews and Feedback

After receiving tutoring, you may have the opportunity to submit a rating or review.

If you submit a review, you confirm that:

  • it reflects your genuine experience;
  • you will not knowingly provide false or misleading information;
  • it does not unlawfully disclose another person’s private information; and
  • it does not contain unlawful, abusive, or defamatory material.

Where you submit a review for publication, you give us permission to display the review and the publication details you provide, such as your first name or initials, country, academic level, tutoring topic, and rating.

Our Privacy Policy explains how review-related personal information is handled.

24. Acceptable Use

You must not use spss-tutors.com to:

  • engage in fraud;
  • violate academic-integrity rules;
  • impersonate another person;
  • harass or threaten a tutor;
  • upload malicious software;
  • interfere with website security;
  • attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
  • misuse payment systems;
  • distribute unlawful material;
  • infringe intellectual-property rights; or
  • engage in activity prohibited by applicable law.

We may refuse or terminate service where we reasonably believe the service is being misused.

25. Suspension or Termination of Service

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate tutoring services where reasonably necessary because of:

  • non-payment;
  • fraud or suspected fraud;
  • abusive conduct;
  • repeated missed sessions;
  • serious violation of these Terms;
  • violation of our Academic Integrity Policy;
  • security concerns;
  • unlawful requests; or
  • conduct that places tutors, users, or spss-tutors.com at unreasonable risk.

Where appropriate, we will consider whether unused prepaid tutoring should be refunded in accordance with our Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy and applicable law.

26. Third-Party Services

spss-tutors.com may rely on third parties for services such as:

  • payment processing;
  • email;
  • website hosting;
  • video conferencing;
  • file transmission;
  • security; and
  • other technical functionality.

We are not responsible for interruptions, changes, or failures caused solely by independent third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Your use of those third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.

27. Website Availability

We aim to keep spss-tutors.com available and functioning properly, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.

The website may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance;
  • hosting interruptions;
  • security updates;
  • technical failures;
  • third-party outages; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, update, or discontinue parts of the website where reasonably necessary.

28. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, spss-tutors.com is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not make guarantees regarding matters that are outside our reasonable control, including academic outcomes, institutional decisions, software availability, internet connectivity, or third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, consumer rights, or other protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

29. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, spss-tutors.com will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the website or tutoring services where such liability may lawfully be limited.

This may include losses resulting from:

  • missed academic deadlines;
  • university decisions;
  • grades;
  • research outcomes;
  • loss of data caused by factors outside our reasonable control;
  • third-party platform failures; or
  • decisions made by you based on tutoring discussions.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

In particular, these Terms do not override any mandatory consumer protections or other legal rights that apply to you.

30. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, or reasonable costs resulting directly from your unlawful use of spss-tutors.com, your infringement of another person’s rights, or your deliberate material breach of these Terms.

This provision does not apply to losses caused by our own unlawful conduct or negligence where liability cannot legally be excluded.

31. Consumer Rights

These Terms are not intended to remove or reduce any mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law.

If the law in your jurisdiction gives you rights that cannot legally be waived or restricted by contract, those rights continue to apply.

Where a provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory legal protection, the mandatory protection will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

32. Privacy

Use of spss-tutors.com is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information.

By using the website, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.

  • Privacy Policy;
  • Refund, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy;
  • Academic Integrity Policy;
  • Cookie Policy; and
  • Educational Disclaimer.

Where a policy addresses a particular issue in greater detail, the specific provisions of that policy apply to that issue.

34. SPSS and IBM Trademark Notice

SPSS is a trademark of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), registered in many jurisdictions worldwide.

spss-tutors.com is not IBM, is not operated by IBM, and is not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with IBM unless expressly stated otherwise.

36. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply to you in your country of residence.

Because spss-tutors.com serves students internationally, certain local consumer-protection laws may apply regardless of this governing-law provision.

Nothing in this section is intended to deprive a consumer of protections that cannot lawfully be waived.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be referred to an appropriate court or other lawful dispute-resolution process, subject to applicable law and any mandatory rights available to the consumer.

38. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the extent necessary to make it enforceable where possible.

The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

39. No Waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we permanently waive our right to enforce it later.

Any waiver must apply only to the specific circumstance for which it is given.

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect:

  • changes to our services;
  • changes to payment or booking processes;
  • legal or regulatory developments;
